The Moonbeams spend much of their day working or playing at activities
of their own selection, but our daily schedule provides time for planned
individual, small group and large group activities, designed to give

- Sensory: sand, water, gak, playdough
- Calendar [today, tomorrow, yesterday, days of the week, months]
- Seriation [size, number, length, weight, texture]
- Comparatives [heavy/light, long/short, more/less, big/bigger/biggest]
- Ordered sets [nesting and stacking]
- Positional words: behind, over, before, under, next to, after, in,
on, down, etc.
- Classification
- Tracing, cutting, lacing
- Hopping, jumping, balancing, swinging, climbing, running, tricycles,
skipping, galloping, marching
- Manipulatives
- Group games
- Board games
- Balls of varied sizes [throwing, catching, kicking]
At the end of this PreK year, most 4's will be able to:
- Identify colors: red, blue, green, yellow, black, brown, white, orange,
purple and pink
- Name shapes: circle, square, rectangle, triangle, star, diamond, heart
and oval
- Recognize and print some letters
- Recognize and print 1st name
- Listen to stories
- Follow 3 oral directions
- Rote count to 30
- Recognize numerals 1-5
- Count 1-1 to 10
- Understand quantity to 5
- Toilet independently
